Sorry Chris, not often get them in and left.
All I have on a 6 month plus list at the moment is a Rally 180, and a '63 Sportique.
But sadly you aren't a Vespa guy :-/
After replying on this thread I have now text both owners with a view to removing them.
Shaun.
buying a scooter, not from the owner. yes, i know.
Hate to say this but I did buy a TV200 in similar circumstances, applied for a V5, and was told I would be contacted, I was, by the police who informed me it was stolen, I showed them the receipt that I got for the scoot, but made no difference, the original owner came and collected it, never did get my money back, that was a long time ago though, still smarts.
Keep on keepin on

as an aside.... many years ago I had an LI150 with no docs. I also had a V5 for an LI150 with about a foot of the frame showing the VIN number- nothing else.
On the V5 there was a section that stated "new VIN number" or something similar. So in my infinite wisdom, I thought, I'll just fill in the new VIN number from the existing bike; send the old V5 off and DVLA will send me a new V5 for the existing bike without having to go through the rigmarole of getting it inspected MOT'd Insured etc etc. I sent it off and thought nothing else about it.
One week later my wife goes into labour and I quickly whip her down to Southmead Hospital in Bristol.
"Go on girl- give it some welly" says I, then my mobile rings..........
"Its Avon and Somerset Police here- stolen vehicle squad. We want to speak to you..........."
It transpires that the V5 together with the foot of frame was reported stolen some years previously- try convincing the scuffers that you acted in all innocence!!
I got a real bollocking for being stupid- Mrs Bristolmod and daughter NEVER let me forget it!!
