Just put the TV 175 barrel and Suzuki TS185 piston in and the piston skirt it hitting the bottom of the inlet neck on the casing. The rod is TV length and I've put the 2mm packing plate in. Has anyone else had the problem and how much do I need to cut off the piston skirt?

You sure it's a TV rod and TS piston? 58mm stroke? I've done quite of few of these (normally with 115 yam rod), and the inlet timing is almost always within range as stock as a mild tune. Somewhere in the 140's (degrees of open time) if I remember correctly. I don't ever recall having it hit the casing.

I would check a timing calculator to make sure things are correct. I use Eden's (I think) at lambretta images archive. It's a great resource.

Sorry, I'm an idiot. I put the wrong crank in by accident
