all a bit mental for me (both price and performance) but hats off to them for developing it. The lammy version seems a lot more usable than the Vespa 305- which seems to spend its entire time on its back wheel according to the Scootering road test a while back. It would make a pretty nutty track or drag bike though

The mack daddy on the left!
Sounds like a great piece of engineering and really good fun to ride!
My concerns would be that its simply not a lambretta engine anymore.....you may as well go down the road of putting a bike engine in.
I like the concept of pushing the boundaries of what should be an 11hp engine....this takes that concept away.
However, if its your bag, go for it!
I can imagine it would be bloody great fun to surprise a few bikes with it

My thoughts are, this is what we can do & so will do a small production run. Eventually they will build a 250cc engine that will be more affordable and the various components will be up to the task and probably interchangeable with your current engine, Vespa that is.
Same for lambretta imo.GLscoot wrote:My thoughts are, this is what we can do & so will do a small production run. During all the warm up stories before it actually appeared, was it not mentioned that the crankcase could be adapted to pretty much any barrel? Presumably that would mean a choice of power outputs.

Harry Barlow's Pro Porting 283cc motor uses a lot of off the shelf parts with his own crank and top end. Ok the crank case need altering but he does that. I like the idea that it's still a "Lambretta" engine so any issues can be sorted with spares from pretty much anywhere and the pistons are also available off the shelf I believe. Torquey, Low revving and smooth as you like. Ride it like you stole or sit on the motorway at motorway speeds.

and you can use a small block casing as he gets a massive plate welded on the spigot area unless this is a differnt conversion ?

That's the one. I've put around 5000 miles on mine this year including the Euro and I can't fault itshocky wrote:bikegunn wrote:Harry Barlow's Pro Porting 283cc motor uses a lot of off the shelf parts with his own crank and top end.
