Yes m8 Im ok thanks, here's write up from LCGB
Well I got to st bees after chucking myself down the rode rolling for about 100yrds apparently
I hit gravel on back end of the A686 and me old scoot took a dive and I went rolling down the hill after it.
All I can remember is being upright one moment and sideways the next.
Eventually stopped in front of a car braking like f@ck coming the opposite way on
Anyway I was helped up by a few scooterists who saw it all happen (Manchester Lyons ) I think, Big thanks to them.
Also the old lady, in the only house for miles, who came out when she heard it all. She patched me up as I had a bad cut and gravel rash up my right arm and made me a strong cup of tea.
Anyway the lads who stopped got a brush from the lady and swept up the gravel, about ten foot of it, all across the road, into the gutter, so well done them.
I then with the help of me old m8 Craggers, well mainly Craggers as I couldnt move me arm as shoulder was killing.
We got the old girl going again minus a front brake lever and minimum damage, which was to everybodies amazement.
Just scuffed legshield beading, RH runner board, a slightly bent kickstart & Flipflop back rest which I think saved the scoot.
So f@ck blady moddie crash bars get yourself a flipflop back rest
So there I was battered and bruise in agony in the middle of nowhere ,what was I going to do. .
well People that know me new what Id do
I got on the old gal and rode it all the way to st bees via the first pass with back brake only
Then when we got onto the A66 we decided to go all the way to stbees via A66, as I was in no state to have a go at the 2 main passes this year, plus not having front brake ( Id did them last year though )
So got to St bees signed on and went for a long sore bath.
Thanks to all People there who felt sorry for me, and cringed at my battle scar's. Plus someone with first aid kit who helped clean up the war wounds with Alcohol pads (b@stard)
So the next adventure was the ride home, thank f@ck we did the 216miles by A66 A1 M62 M180 all the way back to cleethorpes.
As the next morning I was feeling a little stiff, rough, bruised etc & my middle finger on my clutch hand had swollen up making it painfull to pull in clutch. So we fixed me front lever thanks to CS engineering who had a spare.( will be getting it back). We headed home with me doing a few wheelies trying to pull in the clutch.
Got back all safe and sound with no further problems
Ive been to ozzy nothing major just well bashed and bruised.
All I can say is thank f@ck I was wearing a full amoured jacket and trousers and not just a flight jacket and jeans
Big big thanks to all who helped in my hour of need
Smiffy
PS Sticky love that video, and well done Toot and other LCGB members for another cracking C2C CU next year for the reverse.
