Gear Cluster Rubbing on Casing

Am rebuilding my engine and when installing the gear cluster it rubs on the casing when rotating. Marks on casing look like there has been slight rubbing at some point in the past. I've installed a new bearing and shim measures 0.9 mm thick rather than 1 mm specified in Stickies.so pretty close.
I read a US forum that says this is normal and won't run when all installed and bolted up but wanted to check before I continue.
Attached pictures hopefully show the marks on the casing.
Any help much appreciated.

Don't worry it'll be fine once spider fitted and tightened.

Agree with 'Wack' But that doesn't look like the correct shim to me.

That's not the correct shim.

Unless thats a rub / wear mark that looks like the shim that goes under needle bearing on end of layshaft

Thanks guys, will get a new shim anyway as want it to be "right" . The shim I have is the one I took out but being in Asia that doesn't mean to much [SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH]

@Bazza3004 sorry missed your post before I replied , in the photo the layshaft has the shim on the end, the only wear mark is the one on the inside of the casing so am thinking could build as is but will get new shim to make it right, even though local dealer doesn't have one so will be waiting at least a week aaaggghhh!

Sorry tippo88 i may of got my shaft names mixed up. The shim on bottom of xmas tree in in your pic looks like the one that fits on end of drive shaft(one that the loose gears go on)under needle bearing that fits in gearbox end plate.

Got my new correct shim from MB and guess what it's identical to the one I have and gear cluster still scrapes. With both shims on together it rotates freely but I guess best to go with 1 shim and trust spider will pull it into place?
