Winter project is to build up a new Malossi 210 based P2 motor for the pig.

I've sourced a Mazzuchelli 60mm crank to go with it but the instructions with that say to use a flywheel less than 1.6 kg.

The OEM fly wheel I currently have has been 'lightened' previously but still weighs a portly 2.6kg. I dread to think what it weighed before

Has anyone had issues with the Mazzuchelli cranks with a heavier flywheel?

Is it really worth looking at something like the SIP Touren (1.7kg) or the BeedSpeed dual (1.9kg)?

Mazz cranks seem to be something of a quandary, you'll either get something bulletproof one day and then something that seems to be made from a strange chocolate/cheese compound the next. If that's what they recommend weight-wise then best to get as close to it as you can. Presuming that you're going to run the Ducati stator then the choices are limited but if you were to go variable timing Vespatronic,. Parmakit and Pinasco will all offer something 1.6KG or below.

Have opted for the SIP Touren at 1.7kg and 'finely balance', hopefully that'll be good enough.
