The two 'spring loaded spacers' allow that little bit extra gap between stand and frame, so aiding the free movement of the stand in the stand brackets.

They also help prevent the frame being weakened at the point where your stand is fixed to your frame. I would recommend that you obtain them both and fix them as shown (they only cost pence in comparison with the cost of welding a bent frame floor pan).

paul - are you sorted ?

agree about part number 14 - you should fit them

item 18 is the s clip which hooks into a slot in the frame strut to which the stand spring hooks onto on p range but the two spring T5 didn't use one - the hook on the spring was a different orientation and hook into a hole in the strut.

Thanks, Gaz.

I can see that my issue is that I have a mish mash of parts. I have one small hole in the strut, which won't accommodate that "S" shaped spring, but I have a PX type stand (it's new so I don't especially want to change it again).

To date, all I have done is fit another spring so I have 2 springs going from exactly the same holes on the stand and strut. This has stopped the stand flapping down when going over potholes.

I think what I'll do is when I next drop the exhaust, I'll drill another small hole on the strut so the 2 springs are at least separated. I'll also fit the parts numbered 14.

Cheers.

Paul
