Hi, just wondered if anyone knows of a decent 12v led stop/tail bulb as the one I purchased from an eBay seller was so bad you couldn't distinguish between the brake light & tail light when the lights were on ! I have tried the led light boards from various sellers & these have worked great until some of the LEDs started to fail ! so much for the 30,0000 hours of life as promised  thanks for any info. db67 ;)

You sure you had that LED 'bulb' wired correctly? In that the brighter section is the brake light, the dimmer, the rear light.

LEDs work on DC. With AC they tend to blow off very immediately. Have you got DC going into the tail lamp & the brake lamp. Yes, the ebay or aliexpress stuff are pathetic. You may use the boards, along with a 12V regulator like a 7812 IC. Even in DC setups voltage spikes up to 15-16V if the rectifier is not a good one.
Before installing battery in my Vijai, I was running all DC directly on the rectifier. Though it worked fine, the brake lights (filament bulb) blew off sooner as the voltage tends to spike up soon due to the absence of a battery.

It's just a 1157 lamp, ANY auto parts store will sell a LED version.

I get them in 2 packs locally for about $20. Running on full AC systems and have had no problems at all.

If the brake and running look the same then you have something else going on.
