Bit of an issue with the crank taper after I sheared the woodruff key. The gouge is on the opposite side to the woodruff slot.. Questions I have are is this still usable, if not can it repaired, if so by whom and lastly how much? It's a pm race crank with hardly any miles so I don't want to bin it or replace webs unless I have to.Image
Thanks sef

I'm certainly not an engineer but I wouldn't have thought you could fill in or repair the damaged part. I'd just get some grinding paste and lap the flywheel onto it and then see how it fits. Looking at your picture there appears to be enough decent taper for the flywheel to grip. I also would have thought that if you did try to get it professionally repaired it might well end up costing a fair bit of money (past experiences)

Im going to lay the scooter up now, need to spend more than i want to get it back where it was. Need a new barrel and piston as the gaps way beyond tolerance. New kickstart shaft, flywheel and so on. Series 2 rat bitsa is running and insured so will run that until i can afford it all. Im going to aim for easter weekend.

Onwards and upwards :D
