I have a few projects on the go at the same time here so there has been a few questions from me lately (and its pishing down)
What is the best way to strengthen the footboard struts when fitting a sidestand on a lammy?

Most of the side stands on offer fit to one of the 2 struts under the floorboards. The down side is they tend to bend the strut after a while. The best way to sort this is to put a strengthening bar betwwen the rear strut and the front one. This will stiffen the whole lot up.
As it happens i have a side stand and a centre with the strengthening bar between but im using an old truimph side stand that bolts onto the strenghting bolt. That way the stand sits inbetwwen the rear and front struts.. This looks right and seems the ideal place to have it. The truimph one has a one bolt clamp that fits round a round bar so i made the strengthening bolt round as well.
Hope that made sense
