Hello,
I have a Fat Mamba on my RB22. And yes the end can did crack and fall off. This was welded up by PM and returned to me under warranty.
However, the pipe now works it's way loose. First at the bracket end which I solved by double bolting and nylocking. Then the exhaust managed to pull out one of the large engine studs stripping the thread grrrrrrrr.
Coming home from the Shed in Peterborough I used a bungy to pull the tailcan up and stop the exhaust stripping the second engine stud. This worked a treat so I think I need to get one of Scooter Loopy John's end can supports.
Has anyone used one of these supports on a Fat Mamba and was it easy to fit?

Can't help with the problems but after a drunken conversation at Lincoln these pipes are now officially known as "Black Mambas" and should always be confused with the adverts for marital aids at the back of specialty magazines.KCB wrote:Hello,

I think the pipe needs a re-think on the mounting and certainly the tail can needs a support.
The kegra/taffs type rubber mounts with steel insert are probably the best. The Jl solid ones forget as thats just as bad as bolting it direct to the motor.

At least I'm not on my own with the end can problem,as I've killed my 3rd RB and now having a TS1 230 built I'm not using the Fat Mamba,but I would still like ideas for end can support if I decide to use it again.

i remember seeing the old mikeck that had a bracket round the endcan (not very asthetic ) it also had a rubber mount /shock absorber between that and the bottom shock absorber/suspension mount .funny how we go round in cicles innit 20 years on endcans snapping 

You can't have that pipe, solid mounted to that motor with a weight on the end (the can) and not expect it to break. Pm's 'solid' bracket is actually flexible but its not enough to prevent the cracking. Needs proper mounts and the can suspended.

The carbon pm end can I have is actually only a carbon sleeve over what looks like a standard alloy can underneath, so probably not.
