I have been offered a TV1 to not very much money.

It is very complete, the engine is in a crate and has been to Tino Sachi for a full rebuild and looks stunning. The rest of the bike is in bits but has been stripped and zinc primered.

I`m pretty sure I can do a good job on it and it will look stunning but not realy sure if I will use it that much. What is the normal cruising speed of them?

A friend of mine has one, they are not fast 45-50 I'd say. The up side is they are by & far the best looking scoot and I recall very smooth.

Hmm, stunning!

The thing is that iv`e also been offered a resprayed li150 for the same money but this puppy also comes with a new unused indian 200 engine.

I`m thinking that the li would be a lot more usable and its not cheap painting a lammy.

I have to think hard on this one...

TV, no brainer for me really, Li150's are readily available and will always be at the budget end. TV1's are rare and will always be worth money but will need to be kept original. All depends on your intended use. The TV wouldn't be viable for much more than local runs whereas the Li with the 200 engine would make a good reliable daily ride.

Thats the thing. Over here, a scooter is a scooter. The numbers on the frame hold no bearing as to its value LD, TV2, TV1 (Vespa GS 160 mk1, sprint 125).... same price.

The only scooter you can get your money back on after restoring over here is maybe a Rally 200 (for some strange reason)

On the classifieds at the moment there is 2 TV2`s. Both going for £1500.

I would have jumped on this if it was still the original colour
