Does a revvy pipe equal a good sucking pipe to work with LPC?
I say this because of the fella using the JL4 on his 240 and getting rather impressive torque figures.
A good sucking!

no, this does not mean the same, altough a revvy pipe CAN also be one that takes advantage of LPC.
For instance, many old exhaust designs with a short resonance length are revvy, but that´s all they are

There are many that know the relative theory on exhaust resonance... this is what creates a usable pulse that aids fuelling via positive and nagative pulses which pull and push the incomming charge out of the primary chamber then back into the cylinder .... All expansion chambers correctly made will cause a negative then positive pulse of varying strength and resonance... The ability to produce a cylinder that can make the most of these waves of energy that flow back and forth inside the chamber.... or alternatively to specificly make an Expansion chamber to work with a 2 stroke cylinder to effectively scavenge is a known science....the-brickie wrote:Nobody know the answer, is it just hit a miss, try a few?
But the real problem seems to be that its only fully understood by a very few... but these few are able use it to a very high degree.... while us mere mortals just scratch at the surface...

And not likely to give up said information easily it would appear.......
No matter, I'll try the few I have and just play, as I've said before, better learnt than taught... so things that shouldnt work on paper may well work well in practise.
