I'm just starting my first engine rebuild and I'm not sure which bearings to use? Glasgow lambretta seem to do reasonably priced kits but which ones would be the best to go for, Koyo or the SKF/FAG/INA kit? The latter comes with the rear hub bearing where the KOYO kit doesn't. I'm just about to also order a Mec Eur GP crank and MBGM RT 195 kit to upgrade the engine from the original LIS 125.
I'd appreciate peoples opinion, thanks
Which Bearing kit

personally I'd go for the SKF kit although KOYO is a very good make as well- personal preference i suppose.
Just make sure they are genuine whichever you choose.

Also, check where in the world the bearing is manufactured.karmsemaj wrote:Thanks Chris, you're the second person that's said that
Many of the big name brand bearings are made in various countries. The source is usually marked on the box and/or the bearing and personally, if it is not I will not buy it and I steer clear of those manufactured outside of western Europe and Japan.
Now I am sure they will say that wherever in the world it is made the bearing is manufactured to 'to our very strict specification and standards', but as far as I am concerned, no thank you.
I buy mine direct from a reputable bearing factor with a shop that I can visit to see exactly what I am getting, and usually save money at the same time.
