My Lam has decided that it will not tick over no matter what I do....throttle cable out to the max, timing screw right in...not interested.... a little bit of throttle and instead of settling back down again, she starts to rev up. I have taken the Jetex off the manifold and put a dellorto and it just does the same thing. Air scoop clear, filter brand new, elbow clear, hose & clips are brand new. Oil Seals, bearings & gaskets replaced 20 miles ago !!!!

Yeah it is a steel plate. It is a genuine innocenti one...the original one had been replaced with an alloy one at some stage, but a good mate had a spare steel seal plate that he donated.

Also check the head gasket. Common problem with these symptoms. When you kick it over to start it you often hear the squeak of air (don't know how else to describe the noise !) You could try switching off the ignition and kicking over to see if you hear anything. Also as above.

Long inlet stud on the manifold was threaded, as was the inlet, warped airbox spring, carb filthy even though it was new i.e. dirty fuel !!!! .....no wonder it was running like a pile !!! Many thanks guys for all your help & suggestions ...it sounds a lot healthier !!!
