Hi Troops, I'm about to change the gearbox on my Li Series 2, from the original 125 box to whatever will be best for my new Mugello 186 with JL4. What's people's views on which I should use, GP200 or Li150? Also, will it make any difference if I buy Indian or should I source an Italian? Tia ;)

I've used a TV175/SX200 on the same cylinder set up- worked very well indeed. Even ran a 16T front for a while, but probably better on 15T standard.

With the GP box you'd need change your sprockets too, as it's supposed to work with 18/47

By coincidence I'll be fitting a 16 sprocket on my li150 tomorrow. 186 mugello with a clubman and 26mm delorto. I intend to see how it runs but I was planning to try a JL3. Why didn't you like it Donnie ?

Im a big fan of the Indian GP200 box , small gap between 3rd and 4th ratios (unlike the Italian GP200 box) and with a JL4 with its revvy narrow power band you'll need it :)

I just didnt feel like the jl4 suited the muggy 186 with the 150 box.

I was using same setup as now ie mugy186 and 30mm PHBH, went to a 48mm clubman and was much better, now on a 42mm clubman.

The clubby just seems to hold the power better and suits my touring riding if you see what i mean?
Donnie.
