dexhaust temp wiring

Just fitting my exhaust gas temperature meter which wire on the ignition do i connect to for power ,non battery . ignition has black green white red wires

You are going to have to give some more info than that if you expect a meaningful answer, by those colours it sounds like you mean the wires from the stator? If so, then NONE of them. Your EGT might need DC or AC but its not possible to say without some basic info. I have a cheap (£40 ish) EGT that used an K type exhaust probe as most of them do. The probe itself needs no power as the probe actually generates its own voltage from the heating effect. BUT, the gauge itself needs a switched DC supply to power the electronics and LED backlight. There are other makes out there though that might be able to cope with AC in which case a feed from the brown loom wire should do it.
