I have been running my scoot with the panels off the past couple of days and it seems to have 'cured' the problem. So I am thinking my issue may well have been a dirty filter, not enough air? I have a breathe sweet filter on and going to give it a wash tonight see how that affects things.

That might account for boggy running but a dirty filter won't cause backfiring.

Have checked all I can check, so will just have to keep running till there is any more symptoms and deal with it then. To be honest she's running spot on now (fingers crossed/touch wood!!). Oh the joys of Lambrettas eh?!?

Thanks all for your imput.....till next time :D
