I've just picked up a Pinasco barrel that had an iron sleeve put in, it looks well done. The piston is Polini will this be okay? I've check the piston barrel clearence and that seems fine.
If it's okay, I'm planning to bolt the kit directly onto a P2 with an up jetted standard carb and a better exhaust.

Depends on which piston you have, the Asso items are known to crack and drop their skirts so I'd avoid using one of those, the Meteor / Grand Sport ones are far better. Not sure on who makes the newer ones not having had a Polini for over a decade but if you're going to get a new piston kit I'd also look into the new Evo 'heads to go along with it
