win or lose have a booze
Really sad news
I was lucky enough to have a custom bike in the mid eighties which dave built and tuned a stage six suzuki 225cc lambretta motor for me . The engine was awesome i did nearly two seasons all over the country it was really quick and really reliable . When it did finally relent ( twisted a crank near Oxford ) Dave collected and repaired for me no issues. Lovely guy i only had the pleasure of seeing him race once . RIP sadly missed.

The only dealings i had with him was when i needed a downpipe for my msc mi ron pipe.
considering it had been out of production for about 30 years he had search, found one and also sent me his last two micron stckers.
Genuinely nice guy.

Stuff there in that ''The Cooler'' engine that Dave did all those years back that folk see as new now as stuff in the Lambretta world. That just shows how he revolutionised Lambretta tuning and design for both power and reliability. A true legend.YAMLAM wrote:a few glimpses of him on here.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vYPAVEdV8q8

Gone but not forgotten....
I'm currently fitting a DJ internal hydraulic disc to one of my bikes and have dug out the fitting instructions that Dave was good enough to supply me a copy of a couple of years ago. Along with the MSC instructions were the correspondence emails that Dave and I exchanged, which put a smile on my face as I read through them last night. Not only was Dave an expert at what he did but he was also a really nice bloke, who would go the extra mile to help someone out, but his humour comes through in the emails too.
Thanks again Dave... Gone but not forgotten.
