You know what they say about being afraid to ask dumb questions because of the risk of looking a fool, well I kind of feel foolish asking this but here goes anyway:

Reading stickys book on how to read squish it recommends 2mm solder or 1.5mm if you cant find 2mm. Now I have solder but its only about 1.1mm - too thin , or 3mm. My dumb question is can I use the 3mm?

I would just try it but I'm just thinking worse case it might be too strong and cause some damage if I force the piston to compress it and then I'd feel really foolish :D :D

You won't do any damage with 3mm.

You may just have to rock the crank a few times to get past tdc.
