I'm going to be fitting a new exhaust to the avanti, I've had a look around and am almost settled on a franspeed. I was tempted by the Nk but have been persuaded not to get one due to the build quality issues.
I'm currently running a 17 x47 gearing on a li150 box giving a final drive of 4.7 :1 which is recommended for the franspeed race, i can switch to a 17 x 46 to give a 4.6:1 which would suit the tourer pipe.
I want to be able to sit at an average 60-65 when I'm doing motorway miles but also get a grin factor when I'm giving it a bit of welly. So which pipe would suit me better?
Avanti franspeed race or tour?

I've got an Avanti touring pipe on mine at the moment pulling a 4.8 final ratio. I've not sorted the jetting to suit it yet and it runs into a wall at 65 but from 45mph onwards in 4th it gets VERY strong and will hold decent speed into the wind and up hill which the JL3 wouldn't. Must get it on the dyno soon

I would go for a NK or the Race, I have a supertourer which is fast but getting the jets right and gearing is a mine field
It has done a GPS 79mph puts out just over 20bhp but is not the easiest bike to ride with others. One plus is the wife won't go on the back now.

I've had the Tour (not SuperTourer) running a final drive of 4.6 and now have the Race (4.8) on my Avanti. For motorway riding it's the Race for fun factor comfortably cruising in the 60's, tops out about at 75mph (gps). You tend to be up and down the gears when you're in the country or in a hilly bit, whereas the Tour will pull through a lot easier. Speed wise the Tour will sit at 60+ all day and matches the top speed of the Race.......the Race just gets there quicker.
