Tis true, Ralph has put some extra work into the piston in my Rapido kit. I hope to god I don't blow a hole in it, but then I've got to get the engine up and running for that to happen

if its genuinely one of his barrels im sure he'd sort out a piston that would fit, he's got some in stock. He's just built a mighty fine mugello based engine for a guy from our club and the piston was worked til its literally amazing. It wasnt cheap but if he made any money on it id be amazed. I think a guy who puts craftmanship above all else , let me take an engine before paying him and then rang me on the rally to ask how it ran derserves his reputation. Im sure if you are happy to ring he'd be happy to sort you out a matching piston for your barrel. oh he's not eccentric though just genuinely bonkers!!.:x :x :D

Well that was interesting...........

Ralp managed to tell me stories ranging from reasons to wipe out the poulation of the middle east with a bomb, right through to information relating to the Mayor of Doncasters pension. Thankfully he also had some info relating to the piston as well.

He breifly informed me that it is a TS250 piston, before going on to tell me lots of stories about various individuals, their work, their engines, his sprinters, engines he's tuned, people that have ripped him off etc etc........i did suggest to him that he did seem to have a very dim view of the people in general, to which he replied......."yeah, because they're all c*nt5!". I'm sure he meant it in the nicest way possible way.

And I must say, although Ralph obviously has a firm grip on words such as c**t, tw@7, b@5t@rd and f@@king @rseh@le......he didnt use them in an aggressive manor, and was very expressive in his use of profanity..........so i thanked him for his f@@king time. :D
