So how many barrels did he actually "tune"

All of them have the same problem; the bottom of the exhaust port is about 4mm too low.
I'm not going to knock this guy as he really tried, lost money and then gave me a full refund. To be honest I fee feel guilty taking the cash back, but that's business.
It leads me to wonder if all Indian barrels are like that now. I have no idea how many sources there are.
I was thinking of buying one from af, beedspeed etc but I've had enough now, so I'm throwing money at it.

where were the barrels purchased?this is a manufacturing fault and if 4 barrels from the same source had the same notch flaw then they are not fit for purpose and should not be sold the tuner has tried to machine out the fault without realising that the flaw makes the barrels scrap from new,why were they all from the same faulty batch?

Sorry I don't know the source other than 'india', but it's a big place with lots of people, so that's not really much help.handofdave wrote:where were the barrels purchased?this is a manufacturing fault and if 4 barrels from the same source had the same notch flaw then they are not fit for purpose and should not be sold the tuner has tried to machine out the fault without realising that the flaw makes the barrels scrap from new,why were they all from the same faulty batch?

I still dont understand why he actually ground more than one barrel id fit the cylinder on acasing with a crank and piston in and check the the port timings and position of the piston a bdc im no tuner but this reall does seem like school boy stuff

I don't care anymore as I've just ordered my GT186 kit. I'm poorer but happier.shocky wrote:I still dont understand why he actually ground more than one barrel id fit the cylinder on acasing with a crank and piston in and check the the port timings and position of the piston a bdc im no tuner but this reall does seem like school boy stuff

Specsavers and WH Smith first. New glasses and ruler.
May need a base packing plate BUT depends where the piston sits at TDC.
