newly built engines/ rebored top ends etc.

Why do they tend to smoke more than normal then eventually settle down?

Over the years I've noticed the above and never understood why- could it be the deep honing on the bore trapping more 2T?

Any ideas Gents?

Chris
I have always run my scooters at 4%.When I run in a new or rebored cylinder I use mineral oil and then change to semi-synthetic,but still run at 4%.
