I've put on the newer Spaco float bowl and sprung needle and it still floods. It happens more when the tank is full and I'm always turning off the petrol tap to also try and stop it flooding. Any more suggestions?

Have you checked the float itself isn't punctured and holding fuel?

I had this occur on a 24 Si carb when the fuel tap was switched off and the tank was full...it turned out to be fuel by passes the off position on a sip fast flow fuel tap when the fuel level is above the breather pipe...I resolved it replacing the tap with one that doesn't have a breather from chiselspeed...its easy to check if its this just disconnect the fuel banjo from the carb with the tap switched off and a full tank of fuel

The bowl didn't seem to be leaking but a new bowl and another new needle seems to have fixed it
