Filter or no filter?

Be careful! If it was dyno'd with the filter on the chances are you will have to richen up the carb to run safe with it off especially if it was restrictive......you are now sucking in a lot more air than before!
In regards to "is it ok to run without a filter"......well years ago myself and friends with TS1's used to run without filters no probs although you did get a nice run of oil down the sidepanel and floorboard

Gonna give the powerjet a tweak and increase the petrol a tad and see how it goes

That may sort out leaness at wot but when you reach speed and back off that's where problems can occur. I'd plug chop at 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 throttle as well.

personally taking my filter off made little difference but I do tend to run slightly on the rich side

Whoa! That picture is enlightening isn't it? Seems to me the best way for an engine to breath is outside the engine compartment. Because we all know Lambretta's are like little vacuum cleaners under the panels.

Thats exactly the one. How would it be more restrictive?.... as there's a lot less foam than a breathe sweet...

I think the ring adapter would be ok but everybody seems to think the dual layer foam on the Marchald filters is restrictive, I have one but not tried it yet so can't comment from experience. It is quite a nice feature that they let you adapt the filter to various carbs rather by the interchangeable rings.

I am hoping to get a reed valve fitted pretty soon, I have the option of an Atomic Mini and am concerned about there being space for a filter (GP150 body), does anyone do a decent filter that would be ok to fit under the panel. I do have a hole and grill on my panel adjacent to the carb mouth, so something that might fit snug to the hole might be good.... And one that would be good to let the Muggy breathe enough ???

Bob's obviously getting his panel on with the 90 elbow, but can't see what manifold he's using. I cant imaging the ScootRs one being much longer than a standard rubber mount but you'd need to try it and see.

I'm not using the marchald foam mate. I've bought a 15mm thick sheet of air filer foam & I will cut it to shape & fix that to the adapter.

Top tip of the day....don't immerse the breathe sweet filter in hot water to clean it.....all the glue comes apart....as I found out...
