Is it possible to install a isolator switch on my vnb with px engine? Still being able to cut of the engine on the handlebar button, but putting a key switch in the side gove box. It would need to be a key type as the vnb toolbox does not have a lock.
If so, would this be ok?

Can't see why not as long as you have enough clearance between the inner frame and petrol tank although it will be fiddely to fit the key through the toolbox door to turn on n off. Do you want to fit it in there just to avoid having a switch on show? as it would be easier to fit a switch around the petrol tap area of the frame.Either way you need to extend the wire that goes from the CDI/HT coil to the kill button to reach the key switch ,the kill button will work as long as the switch is on.

I have just fitted a purpose made Beedspeed loom, which has the wires a the switch located near the seat. I didn't really want it on show. My next question was going to be 'how much clearance between frame and tank'!

I don't think those switches are that deep so you maybe ok but would be best to check clearance before drilling your hole.
