Replacing the tyre I took the rear tube out of my series 2 rusteration hoping it was good and would go again.
Now I know some people say " eeh it's grim oop North lad" but just exactly how grim ???, 6 repair patches on it plus it's got another puncture ha ha ffs. One has got an embossed name on it. STENOR WELD, and another has REMA TIP TOP so not just any owld shites been used.
Is it worth owt on flea bay as a collectors piece .

I've seen things like that in Ann Summers or Love Honey, but theirs have always been way too tight........

I'll ask Mrs Bristolmod and get back to you. :D

Wow I'd completely forgotten about those :? I worked in a motorcycle/scooter garage for a while when I first left school and 'vulcanised' repairs to punctured inner tubes were common. I seem to remember some sort of clamped on apparatus and heat. It was regarded as a permanent repair 8-)

Had scooter accident at 17. Used insurance money to buy S2 Landrover.
Quickly ran out of cash.
Couldnt afford new tyres, so ran completed bald, down to canvas, but they had split rims and inner tubes, just like a scooter. So easy to split and repair
Hate to think how many patches there were on some of the inner tubes
