Evening,
I have just got a Motovespa TX 200, does anyone know if the engine prefix id 118m, and when ordering spare parts is it the same as ordering for P2 for the year?

Any info appreciated

Thanks Dickie

I have a TX 200 and the engine number prefix is 118M so I assume they all should have that number.
As far as I am aware, the motor parts are interchangeable with the same year P2. I seem to remember being told that some older ones have Motoplat flywheels and later ones, Ducati so that may depend on what year yours is.

hopefully Ducati, as there were a few different kind of motoplat ignitions fitted to Spanish 200"s (DS etc) and bits are hard to get. all the TX200"s ive seen are Ducati . Good scooters the TX200, usually rot free and engines havnt been messed with.

Cheers Goldeneye,
It's def Ducati so that's a bonus going to be stripped down first as it's got 40000 on the speedo and unsure of history then it will be daily commuter.
Thinking of putting a Polini 221 on it while in bits, Unsure at the moment

Most Spanish Vespas ive done the motors on have been good engine wise, as they tend to get used what they were intended for, they put them in 3rd gear and potter around to the shops and stuff. instead of chopping bits off the motor and screwing the gonads off them like we do over here!
