Been running an imola 186 ultimate for over 2 years now without too much hassle. While shes tucked away for winter i thought id get a couple of little jobs done.
First ive ordered one of cam lams adjustable power jets for my dellorto, ive always had a bit of a boggy spot in the mid range so hopefully it would sort it out. Would there be much change in the jetting?
Next up im thinking of changing the pipe, currently running a franspeed supertourer, i hate the way they sit at the back (so low) so thinking about a fat mamba. So as im fitting the adjustable power jet is it really worthwhile fitting a egt gauge like cam lam recommend? cam lams egt gauge requires a battery and i dont have a battery on board. What are my options? thanks in advce

imho yes...... do a search for a Mikuni power jet , they are universal ,so will fit the Dellorto there are some on Ebay but they are in USA , so you`ll get hammered with the postage , but you should be able to source one locally for less than that ......

I have the following to do over 2 weeks at Christmas, although there's no way I will be allowed to spend the whole 2 weeks in the workshop..

spray leg shields in 3 colours

clean up light seize on Suzuki 190 engine and then get in series 2 winter rat

Send off final info to DVLA for registration ( massive pain) for winter rat

Fabricate new flywheel cowling

Fit handlebar choke

Touch up panels

won't get it all done but hope to make a dent...

Ive got an engine to rebuilt and fit plus change some cables so fare ive spent 6 hrs most of it trying to shim the gearbox ive had to shim the layshaft of the rear hub bearing and then grind the top of the layshaft to get it below the first gear ended up with a 2.8 mm shim by DRT and ive had to slowly lap that down by hand , then the chain guides didnt fit ( scootrs sh1t ) NOW THE SQUISH IS 2.4 mm, one inlet manifold hole needs reaming out and im waiting for various other parts I thought I had were will it all end ...

My GP is set up and runs perfectly, I considered an out board disc but I have an original disc that works very very well so I have nothing more to do to it, Cyclone,RT225,SIP speedo, BGM front and rear dampers etc etc...I could get it resprayed but I like it scruffy and not bothered if it gets knocked. My SX is original (not paint) and is quite immaculate......so I'm looking for an original RUSTORATION project to keep me busy over the winter months.....anyone?
