I've now fitted the seat properly ( with the usual fettling ) and I've given the NK a coat of VHT clear. I like the welded plain steel look rather that matt or satin black. Hopefully this stuff holds up better than the coating on my super tourer did. I'm in the process of fabricating a support bracket that fits onto the three end can mounting bolts and then behind the rear shock. I'll post some pictures of that as I go. Cheers all Pete.
Very nice job! I know what you mean about DIY, I painted mine for the first time this year and got so much satisfaction from it. Not had quite the same success with engines yet but it's great fun trying.
I love everything about this scooter, I'm sure it looks closer to Bertones original design than the ones innocenti actually made - if you belive the story about why there is an ink splat on the GP front panel, I imagine the argument was over polished metal vs everything in satin black.
If my SIL turns out half as good as yours when I've finished, I'll be an extremely happy man. (Mine has a black bgm pipe & jetspeed tank, only other difference is the colour, mines road cone orange, but almost painted it 70's porsche viper grun)
Thanks very much for your positive comments. I'm very pleased with it too. I've out a stop on procedings for the moment due to the weather and work. Once the weather improves I'll finish it off. Thanks again Pete.
After putting her on the back burner for almost a year, I've got around to doing the finishing touches. She's MOT'd and I'm in the process of applying for a number plate, so hopefully it'll be on the road soon.
