Been running my 172 reedvalve with 30 del phbh without a airfilter thinking of fitting a malossi airfilter will i need bigger or smaller mainjet and will i have to alter anything else i.e mixture needle
why not fit the Malossi frame rubber bellows? keeps all the s**t out ya carb , and uses the frame as an airbox. minimal re-jetting (if any) from open mouthed carb. ive found you have got to cut a bit of an old frame bellows, and slot it into the Malossi one to get a good fit, but apart from that, I prefer this method to fitting a filter. if you remove the oil sight glass/oil tank (now redundant) it can draw more air throught the vacant hole as well.
