Italian as the gap between 2/3 is a little large on the Indian . . . Indian has a very close 3/4 though.

I too have an Indian GP200 gearbox and was wondering the same as the jump form 2nd to 3rd is quite large.
Would it be possible for me to simply change my 3rd gear for a 39 tooth number from a LI150?
Can I simply drop this inside leaving all the other gears etc.
Best Regards

Chris

I tried indian GP and Italian GP and also a special close ratio box in my RB240, and for me the Italian is the best option depending of the pwoer you have in your TS 1, I found the Italian was great as if you have the power it goes really well in 1,2,3 and it will pull the longer 4th no problem, I am using 19/46 sprockets.

do you do a lot of rallies ?

TBH I do not do many rallies but quite a few ride outs with my local SC so we are stop starting a bit through town. As you can imagine that leads to obligatory traffic light GP races which is good fun. I run and Indian box with a 18x47 on a Rapido race 225 top end and is fitted with a Sterling pipe which is quite revy I think.
I confess I'm no gearbox expert in fact I have never touched one but was wondering if I could simply take my 3rd gear out and fit it with a 39 tooth one out of a LI150 or I think a GP125 in order to close the ratio form 2nd to 3rd, and also I may fit a 46 tooth rear crown wheel at the same time.
Can you tell me if this is simple one out and one in job or are there other complications.
Best Regards

Hey i resume this post about the z39 into the indian gp200 box. did you fit it then? I was planning to do exactly the same thing on mine to shorten the jump between 2nd to 3rd. It should come out a nearly perfect gearbox this way.. or not?? Anyone tryed it?
Please let me know!
