Hi! I have just replaced the speedo drive and worm on my front wheel, which has a nissin hydraulic disc brake, so I had to take it all apart to do the job. Anyhoo, I have noticed that the front wheel is not moving freely as it should, it is like the disc brake is ever so slightly on (which I am sure it is not). Any thoughts anyone? Could I have possibly put a washer in the wrong place or something. Every time I try to spin the front wheel the level of 'stiffness or resistance' seems to change from very stiff to nearly free and sometimes there is a ever so slight grinding noise??? :?

HELP!

Thanks :D

Maybe something is causing the disc to sit off axis (assuming its a standard disc hub with hydraulic conversion.

If its an outboard disc and you had to remove it from the hub it could have warped once the tension was released or you didn't put it back on the same spot where it came off.

With out photos it's going to be hard to really know what's going on.

Have you tried to ride it yet?

Thanks Grumpy.....found the problem. When I took the speedo worm out the wheel spun as free as it is supposed to! It would appear that the worm was causing an obstruction.
