Hello
Have a series 1 Lamby that was using the 3 festoon lamps type stop and tail light. It was poo and falling apart so I bought a BGM LED thing. I have a feeling it was knock off as it looked cak, was cak and needed help from day 1. I would have returned it but bought it at a parts fair and couldn't remember the dealer. It eventually failed completely. I then built one using lengths of LEDs encased in rubber. This worked ok for a bit but packed up and, if I'm honest, wasn't hugely bright.
Fitted a BGM one a year or so ago (pretty sure it's genuine) which was great but gradually the tail light LEDs have failed. Looked at it when I got home from work today and only one feeble LED is left glowing. The stop LEDs all seem fine but not really the point especially with winter on its way.
Any one got any suggestions for a good un please? I don't mind a bit of fettling with glue and a soldering iron but haven't really got time to spend a whole weekend building one. Would consider bonding in a stop n tail bulb holder (series 3 stylee) but don't think there's enough room.
I'm running electronic ign with 12v output, re-worked stator and a Wassell rectifier for DC lights n 'orn.
Any good, bad or indifferent ideas welcome.
cheers

If you have the 3 bulb holder still, you can get LED festune lamps at most automotive places. I use them all the time for the pilot lamp in series 3 bikes.
The cool thing is they are pretty cheap and you can get them in different colors.

Hello
I don't think the LED festoons will be bright enough, especially for the brake. I've used one for the pilot lamp and it seemed pretty dim. Maybe they are available with a better output? That said I do have the holder somewhere although I seem to recall it was falling apart so it's probably useless anyway.
What do other folk do?
cheers

Hello
I have a genuine BGM one. Was good but didn't last too well.
I've bodged some additional LEDs on the backplate for now so I can use the scoot for work but it won't be a long term solution.
I ay never seen a lamp like the one on the ebay link, wonder what lens fits that? If I could fit the bulb holder and reflector assembly in the lamp on mine and it had a lens I'd give it a go.
Cheers

I've never seen one with a single bulb - Looks like a carello lens.

Its just a late series 2 light, never fitted to the S1, but certainly less hassle (arguably) than the 3 light S1 (and early S2) version if your not too bothered about originality.

I found a pit bike led light that fitted inside the original lens. I epoxied the unit inside the lens then bolted the whole thing in. It been in 3 years with a Wassel and no problem. Mine was a clear one with red leds and it would have been better with white leds but hey ho. Bright and works well.
This one is similar but you need to do some measuring. seems most are oval at the moment.
