On the way to Kelso lost power at top end.Got even worse on the way home& kept throwing loads of fuel
out of the carb. After trying everything put on a old flywheel & back in business. The magnets seem to be very weak on the old flywheel which i have only done about a 1000 miles with, can i get it fixed or is it something else for the bin?

Interesting one this Booby, demagnetisation used to happen on the old type brass flywheels but is unusual to happen on a modern one.Did you have trouble starting? It can be caused by an electrical short[worth checking out ,dodgy stator wiring]To check the magnets you need a crypton fluxmeter. If faulty its possible they can be sorted but probably easier to get a new one. EID M&D

in the modern times that run, it is probably easier to get a new flywheel... I hate to say it. :x

Hi Booby i had this problem with my last scoot. I spoke to an old mechanic who had worked, tunned and cut tyre grooves by handsince since 1967 on bikes in the IOM TT for 25 years. He explained that Centrifugal force "Inertial" was the problem..This was due to the lightend flywheel there is a greater outforce from the center of the rotation, which can cause the magnets to displace. When i asked what i could do to rectify the problem he said , wait till a good one comes out on the market and buy that one!!!!!!!!!
