Hi all, will it hurt to cut down a GP lower steering cone? Only the one I ordered is too long by an inch or so. I wanted to start putting my newly painted Lammy together over the weekend and don't really want to order another one and wait until mid week for it to arrive. Obviously if cutting it down is a no no I'll have to order another one. Thanks in advance Pete..

Strange that it's too long, I thought there were only two lengths, early model short ones ?. Check the frame depth first then cut if it is too long but put a nice chamfer on the edge so it doesn't dig in when fitting.

Cheers for that. It's an Indian frame, so I ordered a set of GP top and bottom cones. The bottom one though is too long. I've cut it down now ( with difficulty ) and put a nice chamfer on it. Thanks again..wack 63 wrote:Strange that it's too long, I thought there were only two lengths, early model short ones ?.
