I didn't know you could. But further 'food for thought'lambro wrote:keep the 8" wheels, I like that look.
And change the engine backplate etc to the 8" set up.

Rally, Sprint, GL and GS150 forks should all fit. Im pretty sure the distance from bearing stock from top to bottom is the same on your scooter, which every forks you get, all you need to do is change the mudguard or adapt the one you have to fit. Not a big job. On the fork/headset where is the bolt.Daggs wrote:Difficult to be sure at this moment. The engine is not that expected, it's apparently a PX125. I have no idea if an original 150 Super engine would be available. If it was? I would contemplate it going back to original. If not it may be cheaper and create a more useable scooter by completing the 10" conversion and retaining the PX engine.
I have litle knowledge of the Vespa range, but i believe i would need different forks for the 10" wheel?
There have been loads of similar conversions done on here before.

Early Super's used a round headlight which changed to a trapezoidal after the first or second year of run. The PX engine isn't a bad thing if it has an electronic ignition, the old 2 porters were somewhat wheezey and underwhelming at best. Now if you want to go 8" to the rear then you'll need to upgear as you've lost approximately 25% of the rolling radius at the rear wheel. It looks right for the bike and I quite dig on the 8" stance as with Shaun, great fun around town if not so great if you're doing distance work. If you want to just balance it with a 10" at the front then there's a few options. 8*-10" conversion rim, it looks utterly shite though. Maybe other earlier forks as GL has said or better than that if the correct look isn't the main consideration is to use PK 80/100/125 forks which will give a much better ride and braking performance with an easy conversion to a disc brake should you feel the need.
Juan, do you know if the PK forks need any modification to fit?

I think you need to cut a couple inches of the length and I would guess the mudguard mount on the forks would also need attention, but not to difficult a job. It still doesn't look that great as the mudguard sits a bit high. In saying that I think Malossi shocks have introduced a shorter shock so the mudguard sits a little better.
The headset needs modified if you use the PX master cylinder unless you use the semi-hydraulic system.

SIP do forks with most of the required modifications done, ridiculous price mind. Getting good PK forks secondhand is getting more and more difficult but you can still get new XL2 items much cheaper and do the mods yourself.

I've not fitted any myself so don't know exactly how much tinkering will be required as I'm exclusively smallframe these days but I wouldn't mind a pre-P range lardie again sometime in the future.

The super fork just needs a new back plate, brake shoes and hub to convert to 10". No need to swap out the whole fork.
