I've been building a smallframe (I have been for years....) but I need badges, floor strips, speedo, rear light gasket, two tubeless rims and other small sundries.

Now whilst I could probably order the lot from SIP, I have seen lots of floor strips offered by many dealers and none seem quite right. Whilst I could share my concerns with SIP, they are a bit too corporate and I'd like to chat to a regular bloke in the UK before I place the order.

Can anyone recommend a smallframe specialist in the UK where I could take my enquiry?

(I am a member of the smallframe forum, but this site seems to have lost it's mojo of late, so I am asking here first)

I use Beedspeed mate,
Andy and Alan are quite very good, and haven't had a problem with the floor runners at all, (apart from the 1 set with no insert).
What smallframe are you building that has floor runner issues??

Well it has to a certain extent but that's due to folks like yourself choosing to ask on a general board rather than a specific one. Not like it's an issue or anything but there you go. Basically there's no UK dealers worth anything other than getting bits from SIP although you could try Mark1scooters on the afore mentioned forum for parts. Unfortunately Wayne Miller has wound up Wolfe Performance so that'll be no good. Have you actually tried looking /asking at all? Can't say that I've noticed.

You can read about my smallframe adventure here: http://vespasmallframeforum.proboards.c ... ss90-start

The SS90 uses four floorstrips of roughly equal lengths. The set I ordered from Beedspeed had three of one length, and one short one, so they had to go back. This led me to think that the floorstrips in a "proper" pack from Beedspeed would be two long and two short, so I started looking around for alternative suppliers. There are plenty out there, and some are from specialist manufacturers who sell floor strips for quite a lot of money. However, even such kits seemed to be a mixture of short and long strips.

I'd just like to be able to talk to someone before I buy so I am sure of what I am getting.

Thank-you for the clarification on UK dealers, but I'll try to find Mark1scooters.

A journey of thousand miles starts with the first step.

I chose to post on SE forum because I visit regularly. I am trying to restrict the number of forums I visit in order to avoid spending too much time on the computer. This is why I don't have a facebook or twitter account etc.

I would try Retrospective or Mauro Pascoli, although expensive.

Looking at some pics of an SS90 I restored it has 2 long(inner) strips then a slightly shorter one on the nearside outer then the offside outer is the shortest. Not sure if I used the original strips or they were remade RMS ones.

Martin, I would use Beedspeed or LTH for that kind of stuff although I do regularly get stuff from RS ITalia which is mark1scooters on the smallie forum. Ill pm his number to you. Hope the ss gains some momentum again. Keep posting on the smallframe forum as well though as it does need a bit of a renaissance in my view (sorry Juan)

If you've anything to say or suggest then do it over there, I just can't abide whining about things on other forums. That's just purely a cuntbubbles trick.

And, no, that isn't specific at all. I can't stand the LCGB or whatever being discussed on here or anyother X forum being talked about on Y. It really gets on my goat. Bring it up on the appropriate place.
