below is a photo of my cyclone gearbox



i put it together like this after reading of other scooterists problems with the version 2 issue

the 5th gear cog on the tree and the loose 5th gear are flush (at the top)

from this you can see that the alignment of 1st gear cog on the tree and the loose 1st gear are a little bit off

i made up a wear ring/washer to make it align up more (ie fitted between the loose 1st and 2nd gear)

but have yet to fit it as i dont know if its the right thing to do

its only in a standard gp200 so im taking it very easy just now till i see more info on the blogs

I'd go back to Rimini and ask them to comment on your photo as, unless I'm missing something here or it's some quirk of the camera/lens, there is no way that 1st gear is going to line up correctly!!

Nothing wrong with this photo the gearbox will work fine and does with this alignment

Yep, I'm sure it will work fine - but how long for? - surely the gears are supposed to "ideally" line up, unless there is some reason why the 1st gear shouldn't line up??

Do u think that this is the only gearbox that is like that? How long does anything last for??? Keep it in the polystyrene box it will last forever!

I doubt Eddie15b really wants to just keep it in the polystyrene box after forking out so much on it, but agreed it would definitely then last forever if he did!

Anyway, I still think he should go back to Rimini and ask them to comment on his photo!

the photo shows how mine lined up as well. managed to get the important 5th lined up with a layshaft shim and this left the 2-3 and 4-5 clearance at virtually nothing. cant really do anything about it as it is down to the irregulary spaced cluster. if this could be remade evenly spaced and retain the strength i think these problems would dissappear. i feel any wear in the shimming would bring the two adjacent gears together and shed teeth so regular checks are needed. i must have had mine built and stripped over a dozen times to make sure it was the best it could be! having said that it has performed brilliantly and the ride back from mersea through twisting country roads was a joy. probably up to 500 miles now. but those casings sure do get hot!

Ive done around 16000 miles on mine and its the same as this picture, its the early cluster Ive used 2 and they are both the same, ffs get it fitted and used!

Isn't the supreme one the specially treated one, presuming cryogenic or similar?

Apparently the latest batch has the cluster made from some F1 spec material and the supreme kit has the cluster and loose gears made from the same material.
