30mm is to big. Stick with a 25mm . you 'll be all good. 8-) G.

I used to run a jetex until i changed exhaust, tuned my barrel and got a delly. I thought the jetex was fine enough, but its only now i notice how difficult it was to set up, and how it just didnt carburate as well as the delly i have now. I definitely think you should solve the problem first, but I would recommend changing the carb in the future so as to make your life a bit easier!

Point taken Ollie. It didn't start doing it with the Jetex. I was running an old faithful original 22 and I've swapped between them as a way of taking some of the variables out of the equation. The fact that it's on there now is because it was no better, or no worse. I've come around to looking at it as a vacuum, and or, pressure issue, that prevents the flow of fuel for reasons unknown. It may just be that it doesn't work well on a 22 full stop. But, I agree modern technology might be the way to go on this.

Use a plastic bottle filled with fuel,attach a fuel pipe and attach the other end to the carb.This way you eliminate the tank,cap and tap.

The Casa kit was designed for a small acrb and standard pipe setup. Its not a rev monster so going large on a carb is only going to hit your MPG. I ran mine on a 22mm and later a bored out 26mm Jetex but I agree the newer ones are hit and miss. I always stuck with them through thick and thin but have just put a 26mm Dellorto on my Muggy setup. They are like chalk and Cheese. It runs better now than it has ever done.The jetex was either on or off, the Dellorto will accelerate out or corners smoothly and seems so much better. Drawbacks Tried 2 different manifolds and the one I have now that gives good carb clearance will not let me go through the air box. I dont like the induction noise though its better with a foam airfilter on a bellows.it has a hundered and one differnt settings to master, needles clips, atomisers, etc. Still tweaking it
Going back to the jetex you are running a red tip float needle? it may be sticking. Does it start and tickover OK as you should be OK till you have used up what's in the float bowl if its starvation. Its not the Casa's fault give it fuel it will run

Jetex needles are longer with red tips and only fit that carb as far as I'm aware. You can get in trouble if you get your needles mixed up. :D

No issues with the kit itself. It starts and runs fine. It's smooth too and feels as if it would go up a wall. It just runs out of fuel after a few miles. All you people have been great with your advice and I'm grateful for it all. The conclusion I've taken from it is that I probably need to vary the set up and dabble in some modern technology, a better carb and a clubman style exhaust are on my shopping list, Seems to me I'm not getting the flow through the engine and if the supply of fuel is good then it can only be the carb or exhaust which just isn't moving it on like it ought too.

Just as an after note to this. I think I've sort of got to the bottom of this. Both the original Dell'Orto and the Jetex were struggling and in the end it was quite simple. They just weren't letting enough fuel through. The aperture where the needle valve sits was too restrictive. It was drawing it quicker than it could supply it and causing starvation. Since the Jetex has been drilled out it's pretty much cured the problem.

nev thats what harry barlow did to mine and used a drilled m8dified atomiser

can`t really agree, I have fitted a few Casa 185 kits and used Jetexes or 22mm dellorto`s when available never had that problem with them they will be able to supply enough fuel for this kit, we all know that jetexes can be a bit hit & miss, so I would guess that your Jetex was one of the "miss" ones that needed the fuel supply hole clearing
