I rate the them as a fantastic wet weather tyre, but like you say don't last very long. Had mine on over the winter and managed about 1800 out of the rear one, I'm up to 3000 on the front!

Yup.. In this day and age, i'd expect five or six thousand km out of a rear.
Sticky Dunlops last that long, commuting.

I have 3 sets of weather mans 2 of these sets worn out as they should and we're made in Korea the 3rd set r all over the show and wore very strange but show no country of origin , btw the side walls on a weatherman compared to a s1 r twice as hard

That's the point I was trying to make earlier in this thread. The Weatherman, Sportsman, Conti Twist Sport and Dunlop Scootsmart tyres are all high load rating and therefore have 3 ply's in the carcass which is why the side walls are stiffer. To my mind, a stiff 3 ply side wall is more likely to hold its shape in the event of a deflation even if only for a few more seconds than the flimsy 2 ply ones. I removed an S1 a few years ago that had all the stiffness of a piece of cheap carpetrbgaz wrote:......btw the side walls on a weatherman compared to a s1 r twice as hard
