I use one in an imola and it's fine no slipping it's also a soft pull on the lever, been in a couple of years now.

No problem I've had it in an avanti kit as well, swapped it over to the imola and I now have a 4 plate with updated springs in the avanti.

Same here, got one in my ts1 225 and it's transformed the scoot, the clutch lever is also a lovely action.

Thanks for all the replies.
I have an avanti kit that I'm considering setting up on a 4.8 final drive with a Franspeed race pipe.
I'm also thinking about having some additional tuning done and am wondering if I should budget for the race or road version of this clutch.

I'm not sure where this "road" and "race" version came from, they're basically the same except one is made in Italy and one in India. AF used the Italian Surflex version in their group 6 racer but when they fitted it there was no Indian version. I'd say the difference in price is down to the fit and finish rather than the power either can handle. The cassette on the Italian one slides in and out of the crownwheel straight out of the box, the Indian one needs an hour with a needle file before it'll do the same.
