I started with an LI 150 special, SGT scooters in Wimbledon gave me 50 quid trade in on a shiny new px125e...3 weeks later I saw a pal on a shiny cola coloured LI ...quick respray n he paid 300 for it (1983 prices)...how we larfed!!!!
Had a series2 LI after the px...then a series 3 LI two t5's another px and lastly before the GP a p200 disc...in the blood I guess
Li 150 special...£20 for cash back in 83....don't find em like that anymore!
series 2 li 150...bought off an old gent after it had been sitting in his shed 20 years £50... crank bearings seized after about ten miles due to the seals having perished
Great memories cheers for putting 'em on. Its why i can ride across the country and have a f****n' good laugh with people who ive never seen before in my lifeWhen you didnt have wii or ps3 or any money and you were gonna be working in a factory you made your own transport as stylish as you could aford. My son who's 17 hasnt a prayer of affording a series 2 or Li special because theyre all 3 grand, the only people who drove these shitters were working class lads who needed to get out of town for the weekend. look where we are now, theyre called investments!Well if he stays in til he's 21 he should be able to get a LUI 50 and a tin of smoothrite! No wonder he's looking at old corsa'a for 100 quid, its a shame they wont have the photos in their albums you do.
