had my first heat seizure on this since i built it about 5 years ago, on my way to the af do , rapido 200 , bgm big bore, 30mil amal mk 1, no warning just locked, i removed the engine today and started a strip down , it turns out the carb gasget had split and exited stage left..i let it cool and drove the remainder 200 miles on half choke , it ran there and back with no other seizures, i was amazed to see the head and barrell are fine , just the piston was scorched in one area , it would clean up ,, dont you just love cast iron kits , if it was ceramic it would be fooked... was thinking about a 225 just not sure which yet.

I had my old 200 race rapido barrell bored to 70mm using an avanti piston, had an avanti head done to suit, have to say i found ron moss a gent to deal with and very fast,, polished the ports and opened the inlet a bit more , fitted the bgm clubman and 30 mil amal mk 1 , ill have to start re jetting and hopeully start running in in a week or two ,








Nice bit of work on the engine fella should make for a nice motor,is that the original casing mended? u should of left the custom chrome bling one on there
. Will see ya hopefully at the Waterford rally april mate looks like it'll be the first outing of the year, Hicksy.

custom chrome one is for the ld , thats a spare i had to modify for the tacho, it'll have to come back off for welding ,original casing is well fooked, ill bring your carrier to dungarvan, had the engine running last night , was going to test drive tonight but its snowing so balls to that.
