I've had mine for 2 years now and spring doesn't rotate, have you wound up the preload to max, you're just a little heavier than me, but
mine is wound up to max

I have for several years now, just used Escort rear shocks on me Lammies, a chrome one to suit the bike, but have just had one fail on the bushes. Now I know they are not the best, but they do the job of carrying me and my luggage around the country, Speedy

Have used an Escort shock on my TS1 for over 4 years now, and although I'm not quite as light as I like to think I once was, there's been some weight on the Lammy when I've been two up and carried lost of Club Shop stuff on the back

If they've been good enough for a few years, then why pay a fortune for an expensive shock that you have to make fit and have doubt in your mind every time you overtake a lorry??

Just my own opinion of course, however I only have products I have full belief in, available through the Club Shop.

Good point Toot. I have as I mentioned used Escort shocks for many years on and off, without issue, and it's just the one that's failed me in fairness. I just wonder sometimes when you become a little....Portly, if maybe something a little more heavy duty might do a bit better cheers,Speedy.

I like Escorts. They go up and down and do exactly what they are supposed too, absorb shocks. A nice, simple, robust shock absorber and most of the time they probably work just as well as a more expensive one.

Right I seem to have sorted my issues. I'm not getting a Hagon, instead I'm sending my faulty one off for inspection and hopefully repair. AF have said they can re bush my chrome Escort shock for between a fiver and a tenner, so that's good. Then on the advice of a good friend, I have bought a chrome adjustable Hi Level shock from Cleggy for £49.99. The bushes look very good and the finish is good, plus the damping dos seem to be what I'm after, just a little upgrade on standard, [ for this scoot anyway ], which is what I want. I'll let you know when it turns out to be a total pig,lol,Speedy.
