gear cluster

I've stripped down my TS1 SIL engine casing and I've got a couple of questions before refitting...

I've found the gear cluster bush raised around 1mm with its underneath shim slightly loose.
Does it only require to be hammered back in place or to be change?
No markings inside the bush but the bearing surface at the bottom gear cluster shows pittings the same on the cluster needle cage.
It has an AF Close Ratio Gearbox and I havent left the cluster shim out but THE book says to do sometimes....when?

Also, the engine casing area around the cluster bush is not flat like italian casings but scored like all the three SIL engine casings I've bought from new.
Is it a problem to leave it like it is? or it can cause problems for the gear cluster spins correctly?

The bush sitting a little proud is not a problem as the cluster raises when the clutch nut is tightened up. Don't whack it with a hammer. Wear on the cluster bearing surface could be an issue. MB can machine this down and fit a new hardened bearing surface for a price (?) Replace the needle roller bearing as they're cheap enough, but use good quality bearing (Ina, SKF) The flashes in the aluminium suface inside the casing is not a problem, just caused when the casing was cast.

I know that wear on the cluster bearing surface could be an issue, but I've always wondered why? I mean what could bring this type of wear to the scooter?

One I had that was like the above, got the repair bush from mb and had the machining done locally
