im not happy with my temperary mugello 225 set up but need to ride to france on it so was thinking of adding a bit of life with a lightened flywheel.

im stuck for time so swapping a sil flywheel for a original af one will i need to alter the timing?

I think that both setups should be run with same advance. As you can't be sure if both flywheels have the keyholes in exactly same place you should check after swap that timing haven't changed.

You could just dead stop the engine to find TDC with the new flywheel then check your existing marks and adjust the stator position if necessary.... about half an hours work if the scooter is up on a bench....

ok, handy to know. i dont mind re strobing but not for just testing to see which works the best. i know some others are way out, i think they are the api originated ones.
