This is what has kept me awake at night for the last couple of years.

The theme is the Fiat 500 Abarth of the 1960's. It featured a stroked and bored 650cc engine that required so much cooling, they used the permanently wedge the boot open. Note the nudge bar/crash bars, and the small dashboard.

It is a Spanish SII with a SR190 engine.

I hope you like it, and if all is well, I'll be at Lincoln on it (I'm just off for my first ride......)

love it mate
but im into lancias and all the Abarth stuff so im biast
i allways wanted to do a martini striped GP in red like the san remo integrales
its quite fitting really as Carlo Abarth used to make small Italian cars go like big cars
so i think it would be good to put a monster motor in a little italian scooter to make it go like a big bike

Very nice! is the rear one of the fibreglass pieces featured in scootering years ago? i don't recall ever seeing anything about them, or on a scoot, beyond that article.

thats really cool that is!!! A genuinely innovative custom scooter with humour and purpose well done mate! having owned a fiat spider Arbath many years back i only hope it is more reliable than my Fiat. it used to conk out at a busy junction, we'd pile out and go for a pint knowing that nothing would make it start again BUT mysteriously if you left it for a bit it would fire up as though nothing had happened. went to Witton casle Lambretta club do in it years back, Arbarth engines are extreme personalities and your scooter really shows that character. I'd love to see the headset covered in black crinkle vinyl like the sun roof on the Fiats. Nice work and i look forward to seeing it in the metal. :o :o :o

Yes Byron, the 240 is destined for this. The holes are in the legshields for the badge already. All I need is everything else for the engine. 2010, I think.

Why didn't Innocenti originally design back end like that? With suitable hinge connection it would make almost all wrenching about ten times easier.

ps. Nice rims!
